Adoption Fees
There are fees required for adopting an animal from Dane County Humane Society (DCHS). DCHS has more than likely spent considerably more than this amount in caring for each animal, so you are certainly welcome to donate more than the minimum fee to help care for other homeless animals as they wait for their forever home.

Dogs

Adoption fees include:
- Spay or neuter surgery
- Distemper, Parvovirus, Rabies (when age appropriate), and Bordatella (kennel cough) vaccinations
- Microchip
- Flea and tick treatment
- Parvovirus test for puppies
- Heartworm test for adult dogs
- Additional vaccines and veterinary care as need
*Adoption Guarantee Fund dogs are highly desirable and therefore have a higher adoption fee. The extra fee goes to build the Adoption Guarantee Fund, enabling DCHS to continue efforts in finding homes for every healthy, available animal in Dane County.
Cats

- Additional vaccines and veterinary care as need
