SNAP: SPAY/NEUTER ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

DCHS offers low cost spay and neuter assistance programs for both individuals and rescue groups. If you are in need of assistance for either companion or feral animals, please let us help! Every day is spay day at Dane County Humane Society!

VOLUNTEER AT DCHS

Volunteers are critical to the care of our homeless animals. Learn more about volunteer opportunities including animal care and socialization, customer service and administrative support, and special events.

Shelter Closed - May 16, 17, & 26

The shelter will be closed Friday, May 16 and Saturday, May 17 for our annual Bark & Wine fundraising event. Appointments will be accepted Friday, May 16. The shelter will also be closed on Monday, May 26 for Memorial Day.

FIV and FeLV Cats for Adoption

Are you looking for a feline friend that is extra special? Consider giving a FIV or FeLV positive cat a chance at happiness. For more information on FIV and FeLV or if you are interested in adopting one of these friendly felines, click here.

Microchipping Every Day!

Losing a pet can be unexpected and stressful, but microchipping is a solution to ensure happy reunions.  DCHS is pleased to announce that microchipping services will now be available at the shelter during all open hours!  The cost is $30 for dogs and only $15 for cats.  Click here to find out when we are open and where we are located.

Saturday 12:00pm - 5:00pm
Sunday 12:00pm - 5:00pm

Bark & Wine - May 17

Mobile Adoptions - May 18 & 24

Come on out and meet adoptable cats and dogs in your community!  Many animals are ready to go home the same day if you find your purrfect match.  To see where we’ll be, check our schedule for a list of dates and locations.

Estate Planning Workshop - May 28

Is there anything that brings more joy to our lives than our beloved pets?  Attorney Daniel Purtell of Wilson Law Group, LLC will discuss estate planning with the specific goal of providing for pets upon the disability or death of the owner/caretaker.

Camp Pawprint - June 16 to August 29

If you love animals, Camp Pawprint is the place for you!  This animal adventure camp consists of weekly sessions for campers ages 7 to 14.  Camp sessions are one week long and you can sign up for as many as you like.  Space is limited, so register now!  Click here for more information.

DCHS Day at the Ballpark - August 4

Help homeless animals and have fun!  Join DCHS as the Madison Mallards take on the Green Bay Bullfrogs.  In addition to baseball fun, we will be bringing along some adoptable animals for you to meet and greet.  Tickets are only $6 with $2 of each ticket sold going to support the animals and programs of DCHS!  Tickets must be purchased at www.mallardsgroups.com with the password "giveshelter" in order for DCHS to receive a donation!

Feline Friends Fund

The Feline Friends Fund provides lifesaving donations directly to the homeless cats at Dane County Humane Society. Help support our efforts to make a difference in the lives of the thousands of cats that come through our doors. Contributions to the Feline Friends Fund support cat adoption programs, spay and neuter surgeries to help reduce chronic overpopulation, as well as outreach and educational efforts to make our community a safer, kinder place for cats.
