Humane Society Heroes: Volunteer Kids Club

Calling All Animal Loving Kids!

Children ages 7 to 15 are invited to join our kids volunteer club, Humane Society Heroes.  Sign up today and help homeless animals while having fun, too!

Each issue will include furry facts, grrreat activities, and ideas on how to help animals at home.

Free admission to volunteer days

Club members can participate in special event days.  Each session will be lead by our Shelter Educator and includes volunteer activities at our main shelter and a game or craft. 

After you become a Humane Society Heroes member, you must register for each volunteer day you attend. To register, please email esteinwehe@giveshelter.org or call (608) 838-0413 ext. 115.

Volunteer Day Schedule:

      Saturdays from 1:30pm - 3:00pm

The club participation fee of $15 per year helps cover materials and staff time. DCHS is a member of the Dane County TimeBank and will accept TimeBank hours as payment.  For more information, please contact the Shelter Educator at esteinwehe@giveshelter.org or call (608) 838-0413 ext. 115.

Feline Friends Fund

The Feline Friends Fund provides lifesaving donations directly to the homeless cats at Dane County Humane Society.  Contributions support cat adoption programs, spay and neuter surgeries to help reduce chronic overpopulation, as well as outreach and educational efforts to make our community a safer, kinder place for cats. Thank you AMS for helping to set up our speaker system in the kennels! AMS donated all the labor, 4 sets of speakers, a receiver, a CD player, and set up four zones so we can control where the music is heard.  Thank you for helping our animals to relax during their stay at the shelter.
