February is Prevent a Litter Month, Pet Dental Health Month, and Responsible Pet Owners Month!

  • Critter Club - February 13Critter Club is for preschool age children and their parents. Every month, children are invited to come participate in animal-related games, stories, songs, and other activities.  Read more here.
  • Mad Rollin' Dolls - February 14:  Join us at Mad Rollin' Dolls' second bout of 2010 on Valentine's Day.  DCHS will be the honorary charity of the day.  Watch impressive ladies compete in this flat-track roller derby sport while helping homeless animals at the same time!  Read more here.
  • Microchipping Clinic - February 14:  Protect your pet with a microchip - an effective form of permanent identification!  Bring them to our next microchipping clinic at AC West.  Read more here.
  • Frosty Dog Jog - February 20:  Join fellow dog lovers at Madison Winter Festival for Movin' Shoes Frosty Dog Jog run and walk event.  All proceeds benefit DCHS.  Registration is required.  Read more here.

March is Adopt a Guinea Pig Month!

  • Four Lakes Wildlife Center Garage Sale Fundraiser Collection Begins - March 1:  Want to get rid of your unwanted items and save lives at the same time?  Save your items and donate them to our very own Four Lakes Wildlife Center's garage sale fundraiser.  Collection starts March 1, 2010.  Read more here.

June is Adopt a Shelter Cat Month! 

  • Camp Pawprint - June 14 to August 26:  Camp Pawprint is a series of week-long day camps held at Dane County Humane Society.  Campers enjoy animal-related lessons and activities while having fun with other animal lovers.  Each summer gets better and better so stay tuned!

Maddie's Fund Projects in Dane County

Learn about DCHS's collaboration with Shelter from the Storm and Dane County Friends of Ferals.  By working together we can reach our goal of making Dane County an adoption guarantee community by 2012.  Click here for more information.

Feline Friends Fund

The Feline Friends Fund provides lifesaving donations directly to the homeless cats at Dane County Humane Society.  Contributions support cat adoption programs, spay and neuter surgeries to help reduce chronic overpopulation, as well as outreach and educational efforts to make our community a safer, kinder place for cats.
