Julie Fagan

Julie joined the DCHS Board in 2019. She has a degree in English from Stanford, and an MD degree from Tufts. She also did graduate work in Bioethics at Georgetown. She practiced internal medicine for UW Health for over 30 years and retired in 2018. She still serves on the ethics committee and helps teach medical students about ethics.

She became a passionate supporter of dog rescue after she and her husband Joel adopted an essentially feral Lab mix, Roxy, who transformed from a terrified, emaciated parasite-infested dog to a loving, energetic, trusting one through abundant love, Prozac, training, and patience. She has always loved all animals (except mosquitoes) and wants to help foster DCHS’s missions of education, shelter and healing and shelter.

In her spare time, she loves to sew and quilt, and race in triathlons.
