Laura Murray
Laura joined DCHS's Board of Directors in 2011 and has served on the Finance, Development and Legislative Committees. In 2010, Laura co-chaired the Bark & Wine committee. In 2011, she was nominated by DCHS for the United Way Community Volunteer Award. Laura is a Financial Advisor at Baird where she develops investment strategies and holistic financial plans for her clients. She is a former lecturer at her alma mater, the University of Wisconsin-Madison where she taught financial life skills to juniors and seniors in the Department of Consumer Science.
In addition to her services to DCHS, Laura serves on the Board of the Women’s Fund of Door County and the Madison Public Library Foundation Finance Committee. Laura’s main priorities for serving DCHS include promoting community education on animal welfare, improving diversity and inclusion on the board, creating alliances within the community to further the mission and build on DCHS’ financial health. Laura spends much of her time doting on her two dogs, Lady and Fodi who is a DCHS alum. Her passions are cooking, golf, reading, music and enjoying the outdoors especially in Door County.
