DCHS Neonatal Kitten Training

Anyone interested in fostering unweaned kittens is welcome to join us for this training session! These kittens, from a few days to four weeks old, rely on foster homes for care and growth.

Dr. Uri Donnett will lead the training in Dane County Humane Society's Training Room (5132 Voges Rd, Madison) on Wednesday, April 1st, starting at 6:00 pm. The session will last approximately one hour and will cover feeding schedules, daily care, and what it takes to foster unweaned kittens.

This training is ideal for anyone who has not fostered unweaned kittens before and is considering giving it a try. We are always in need of foster families who can care for unweaned kittens, and this training session will provide the knowledge you need to help them thrive. Last year, we placed 72 unweaned kittens into foster homes, about 18% of the total number of cats that were placed into foster care in 2025.

If you hope to foster neonatal kittens but have not followed the steps to become a foster volunteer yet, please do so before the training if possible.

Come join us and learn how you can make a difference in the lives of these tiny kittens!
