Pet Food Drive Collection
Wed. Nov 5th, 2025 to Fri. Nov 7th, 2025
Many community members are facing uncertain and challenging times, and when money is tight, even caring pet families can struggle to afford food for their beloved animals. No one should ever have to choose between feeding themselves and feeding their pets.
At Dane County Humane Society, we’re already hearing from pet families who are heartbroken at the thought of surrendering their pets simply because they can’t afford to care for them with SNAP benefits on hold. We want to keep people and pets together.
You can help by donating unopened cat and dog food (both wet and dry) and cat litter to DCHS between Wednesday, November 5th and Friday, November 7th, from 10 am to 6 pm. Donations can also be made online to help us purchase food and litter for local families in need: https://donor.giveshelter.org/page/PETFOOD2025, or you can support our Pets for Life program to keep pets with their families year-round here: https://donor.giveshelter.org/page/PFLFood2025.
If you or someone you know needs food or litter for their animals, please come to our Pet Food Pantry on Saturday, November 8th, from 9 am to 12 pm.
Both donation drop-offs and pantry pick-ups will take place at the barn on DCHS’s main campus, 5132 Voges Road, Madison.
If you have other items to donate to DCHS (besides food or litter), please bring those to one of our DCHS Thrift Stores:
- Thrift Store West: 6904 Watts Road, Madison, WI 53719
- Thrift Store East: 5231 High Crossing Blvd, Madison, WI 53718
