Check out our new hours. Most DCHS and Wildlife Center services are by appointment only, including reuniting lost animals, surrendering a pet, wildlife rehabilitation, and more. Adoption visits are first-come, first-served. We recommend checking our current waitlist prior to your visit.

There are lots of ways DCHS staff and volunteers can help the dogs in our care have a fun and relaxing summer.

Ice Treats: Our ice treats, made with ingredients like dog treats, gravy, broth, and water, are a delicious way for pups to cool off on a hot day!

Supervised Sprinkler Time: Setting up a sprinkler in a dog exercise yard is a fun and different way our dogs can play outside when it is hot. They are also easy for our staff to set-up and clean-up!

Puppy Pool Parties: There is nothing quite like hopping in a pool on a hot day. Puppy pool parties allow our dogs to relax outside on summer days!

You gift now can help our pups have a fantastic summer. Consider donating now.

You can also mail or drop off your donation at Dane County Humane Society’s main shelter (5132 Voges Road, Madison, WI 53718), with “Summer Fun” in the subject line.

Funds from the Summer Fun campaign will be used to provide care, comfort, and enrichment for companion animals at DCHS.
