Most DCHS and Wildlife Center services are by appointment only. If you found a lost animal, need to surrender a pet, found wildlife in need of help, or require another service, please call before coming to the shelter. Adoption visits are handled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Name: Sadie
Age: 14 years
Weight: ~9 lbs
Personality & Home Recommendations: Hello, I'm Sadie! Who said you can't teach an old dog new tricks?! I am an older cat and I've learned tons already; I know sit, the beginning part of fetch, and lay down. I'm also a pro at burrowing into laps, snoozing in your arms like a baby, and singing you the song of my people. The lyrics are "Meow, please feed me, meow meow, please love me, MEOWWWWWW!" On top of all those skills I am also a beauty queen - I have beautiful emerald eyes and an absolutely glowing complexion. Looking for a chatty lap cat who loves to snuggle? Come meet me and bask in my awesomeness!
Medical Needs: I am a senior lady, so I may require some more regular vet check-ups to keep a watch on my health. I did have a mass removed from my right ear, and have a small cyst on my left ear. The vets aren't too concerned about either of those things, but I might be more susceptible to other masses in the future. I'm currently taking a medication for hyperthyroidism, which is very treatable and symptoms can often resolve with proper regulation. It's always a good idea to schedule a follow up visit with your vet shortly after adoption.
Adoption Fee: My adoption fee has been sponsored by a generous donor!
