I am Moo Goo. Take me home! I'm a senior kitty looking for my forever home where I can rest, take naps, get lots of love and attention, and just be a good snuggle bug. I'm a little shy at first when meeting new people, but I warm up with a little bit of time and lots of neck/chin scratches. I need someone that will give me time to warm up to them, and my new home once I am adopted and care for me. Even senior kitties deserve a warm and loving home. I hope to see you soon!
Medical History: This cat was noted to have a condition called ceruminous gland hyperplasia, which is when the gland in the ear canal become dilated. These appear as large purple bumps in the ear and can predispose the cat to ear infections when larger in size. This cat did have an ear infection in both ears and we have started treatment for this. While there are some options for removal, they generally do not need to be treated as long as secondary infections are managed and they are not causing other concerns. If noticing any ear discharge, scratching or odor, please have them evaluated by a veterinarian. This cat also has a history of litterbox problems, and was treated by the previous veterinarian for a condition known as Feline Idiopathic Cystitis (FIC). FIC is an intermittent inflammatory problem of the bladder with an unknown cause. Episodes tend to be triggered by stress. If adopters notice that this cat is straining to urinate or having difficult passing urine, this is a medical emergency and they should be seen by a veterinarian right away. Below is some information about management of FIC for adopters. Adopters are encouraged to discuss this condition with their veterinarian prior to adoption if they have any concerns.
