Most DCHS and Wildlife Center services are by appointment only. If you found a lost animal, need to surrender a pet, found wildlife in need of help, or require another service, please call before coming to the shelter. Adoption visits are handled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Dog | Male | Age: 3 | French Bulldog | Spayed/Neutered | Up-to-date on vaccinations

Louie is a really good dog, completely housebroken, healthy, and can be very loving. However, he is temperamental and can be unpredictable. He is a resource-garder and has bitten me twice with little warning.

Other Animals
We also have another male dog named Noah and he is very sweet and gentle. Louie tolerates him but I give Louie space. If Noah gets in Louie's face, Louie will growl at him. Louie his own space.

Medical History
Louie is neutered and up-to-date on all vaccines. He has been on Heartgard and flea & tick prevention on a continuous basis. He has been on Fluoxotine for his anxiety and to mitigate the resource aggression.

Ideal Home
Louie would do best in a home that has a lot of structure and where his routines do not alter much. He needs an owner who can be strong and has experience with his type of personality. Someone with dog training experience or extensive experience with the French Bulldog breed.

Physical Description
Louie is dark blue/black with some brindle, he is small, about 19lbs and lean for a Frenchie

Other Information
I'm heartbroken to re-home my sweet Louie but I'm hopeful that he will be adopted by someone who will give him the love and special needs he deserves.
