Penelope

Cat | Female | Age: 1 year | Short hair | Spayed/Neutered

Personality
Penelope is inquisitive, brave, confident, and loving. She is leash-trained and loves to walk walks outside. Other times, we leash her to a post and she sits with us while we're on the patio. Penelope loves chicken hearts and, if you throw it, she will chase after it (and sometimes bring it back to you for another throw!). She is a devourer of tuna and loves to play.

Other Animals
No

Medical History
Penelope is spayed and is up-to-date on vaccinations including rabies.

Ideal Home
I think the ideal home would consist of a loving person to take care of Penelope.

Physical Description
She is black cat with a few hairs of white on her chest!

Other Information
Penelope was born 9/19/2021. Penelope is a gem and there are tears in my eyes as I write this because she is my baby and I've had her since she was 1 1/2 months old. She greets me at the door and is the reason I rush home after work. Truly, she has been a blessing during the pandemic. Unfortunately, a few days ago, I was careless, and allowed Penelope to get physically close to a neighbor's cat. Although the very interaction was brief (the cats exchanged mild hisses), Penelope has been extremely aggressive and hostile toward me (not my partner) ever since. We believe she has redirected aggression and it doesn't appear to getting any better. We have her on some anti-anxiety medication, but this doesn't seem to help her response (toward me). She is fine with my partner. Though we were very optimistic that things will get better, we are (sadly) convinced that she isn't happy with us any longer and want to find a good home for her. We are also convinced that a loving and patient home and a brand new environment will be the best for Penelope. I am hoping you would consider adopting Penelope and bring her into your home. I will include her leash, chicken heart treats, some canned tuna, and her favorite dry food to help in the transition.
