Most DCHS and Wildlife Center services are by appointment only, including reuniting lost animals, surrendering a pet, wildlife rehabilitation, and more. Adoption visits are first-come, first-served. We recommend checking our current waitlist prior to your visit.

Dog | Male | Age: 4 | Black Lab / Australian Shepherd Mix | Spayed/Neutered | Up-to-date on vaccinations

Wendell is a sweet, devoted dog. He has quite a bit of energy, probably the shepherd in him and his age. Everyone who meets him loves him.

Other Animals
Wendell lived with a cat for about a year and, once he got used to her, he was perfectly fine with her. With a new cat, there might be a short chasing period. He currently lives with a small dog who he generally ignores.

Medical History
Wendell has been neutered and he's up to date on vaccines as of this August.

Ideal Home
The reason I'm having to rehome Wendell is that I am having to return to San Francisco for work. I want him to be able to stay in the Midwest, preferably on a farm or somewhere where he'll have room to roam and run.

Physical Description
I'm happy to upload a photo in the future - having some trouble with that at the moment. For now, I'll say he's a little chunky around the middle, but very healthy and bright-eyed.
