"Until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains unawakened."
Individual Pet Loss Grief Support
Dane County Humane Society understands that domestic animals are not just pets: they are family. When our pets go missing or pass away, they leave a void in our homes. . . and in our hearts. Our daily routine suddenly changes and it can be very difficult to move forward without them.
DCHS would like to help you through this difficult time by providing FREE, individual pet loss grief support services. As we are a non-profit, donations are always greatly appreciated.
If you are struggling with a loss, please reach out to our support staff member, Christine Bartlein, and she would be happy to assist you. Please contact her first via email. If you would like an in person session, an appointment will be scheduled.
Maureen Keegan is a Certified Professional Life Coach, receiving Certification from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. It is common to experience a wide range of emotions, including feelings of shock, anger, guilt, denial and depression.
Coaching can be a very safe and effective way to help individuals with pet loss grieving issues. I will listen, reflect, ask questions, give different perspectives, and provide support to help you take the steps needed to move forward in your grief process. I have personally experienced the loss of a pet. I am confident that with my pet loss grief coaching, significant positive steps will be made in your life. Please contact me if I can be of service to you or your family."
