Help us earn money by volunteering at Brat Fest
Dane County Humane Society will receive $8.00 for each hour you volunteer at Brat Fest, which takes place on Willow Island at the Alliant Energy Center from May 26-29. Each year, Brat Fest depends on nearly 5,000 volunteers from supporting organizations like DCHS. They grill… they cashier… they count attendees… they drive shuttles… they stock condiments… they make sure the event grounds are clean – you get it – they pretty much do it all! If you were thinking of attending Brat Fest this year - consider working a shift to help DCHS. Volunteers are also needed before and after the event.
Check out the list of positions available May 26 - May 29.
Anyone can do this, and it’s a fun way to help the critters waiting to find their forever homes at Dane County Humane Society. You do not need to be a DCHS volunteer. You can even have family members, friends, co-workers join you in the fun at Brat Fest! You must be at least 14 years old to volunteer alone at Brat Fest.
All volunteers who help at Brat Fest receive a Brat Fest t-shirt to wear when you show up for your shift. At the end of your shift, you receive a voucher for a FREE brat, hot dog, or soda and a FREE ice cream. For all of you vegetarians there will be a non-meat alternative available to slather with condiments and relishes too! Before or after your shift, plan on staying to enjoy the music, fireworks and planned activities.
HOW DO YOU SIGN UP?
Sign up is ‘first come first serve’, so don’t delay. Every family member or group member must sign up separately. Remember to identify ‘Dane County Humane Society’ as the group that benefits from your service time at Brat Fest - or DCHS does not receive the donation. If you do not see shifts that are compatible with your schedule - please check back at a later date for added shifts. Shifts which had been reserved for some organizations may become available in early April to anyone interested - so check back.
Signing up is easy! Shifts fill up quickly, so don't delay. If you have problems or questions, please email Patty Zehl.
