Become a Wildlife Rehabilitation Intern

Dane County Humane Society's Wildlife Center offers unpaid internships for college students and recent graduates. The Wildlife Center admits over 4,000 animals annually, representing more than 100 different species. Interns are able to get a lot of hands-on experience working with a wide variety of native Wisconsin wild species.

Application deadlines:

  • February 15 for summer season
  • July 1 for fall season
  • November 15 for spring season

Become a Summer Wildlife Exam Assistant Intern

Join Dane County Humane Society's Wildlife Center as an unpaid Wildlife Exam Assistant Intern for the summer season. This is an advanced wildlife rehabilitation internship that is suitable for candidates who have previous experience with wildlife rehabilitation or who have worked in the veterinary field and would like to advance their technical skills. This internship also provides direct mentorship for those considering obtaining a wildlife rehabilitation license.
