Micaela joined the development team in the fall of 2023. A lifelong animal enthusiast, she is thrilled to bring to the table a variety of experience working in the nonprofit sector, working on issues ranging from domestic violence to civil liberties, migration, and technology. She holds a bachelor's and master's in social work from UW-Milwaukee, focusing on community. Originally from the shores of Lake Superior, she has called Wisconsin home for nearly 15 years. Currently, she lives in Madison with her dog and cat, both rescues from the South.

Micaela coordinates Camp Pawprint throughout the year. She also assists her fellow Humane Educator, Olivia, with humane education programming for DCHS including birthday parties, scout workshops, tours and presentations, service days, and other education activities.
