DCHS members play an important role in sustaining critical shelter programs. Member support provides thousands of animals with care and compassion, as well as provides the operational funding that allows us to continue running our core programs and lifesaving services. As a DCHS member, you will change the lives of animals in our community and your commitment will help us save more lives every year.

Workplace Giving
Supporting DCHS at work can be easy through employer giving options!
Matching Gifts
Did you know some employers will double or even triple your donation to DCHS? Some of the area's largest employers, including American Family and Alliant Energy match gifts for retirees and employees. Please check with your human resource office and double (or triple!) your impact!
United Way
DCHS participates in the United Way of Dane County's annual workplace campaign as agency #1180. Ask your employer for a pledge form. Maybe we'll even see you for a kick-off rally at your worksite! DCHS can also be written in to out-of-area United Way forms as well.
Donor Advised Funds
A donor-advised fund, or DAF, allows you to make charitable contributions as you wish, receive an immediate tax benefit and then recommend grants from the fund over time. Please consult with your financial adviser to see if this may be a good solution for you, especially with recent tax changes related to charitable deductions.
Qualified Charitable Distributions
Over 70.5 years old and need to take a required minimum distribution from your traditional IRA? It is simple to make a Qualified Charitable Distribution, or QCD, as a direct transfer from your IRA to DCHS. A QCD may help you avoid taxes and support DCHS. Just ask you financial adviser for more information and their QCD request form. Our Federal ID# (EIN) is 39-0806335.
Endowment
Gifts to the DCHS Endowment Fund with the Madison Community Foundation (MCF) last a lifetime and will ensure a permanent income stream for our mission. An endowment is a permanent investment that grows over time. Each year, a portion of each fund can be distributed to our cause. Rather than a one-time gift, an endowment continually generates resources that will be available forever.

It's easy to raise money for DCHS on your Facebook page! Many people ask for gifts to DCHS for their birthday, while others do it for various special occasions or to help with a special project or need at DCHS.

Thrivent Choice
Are you a member of Thrivent Financial who’s eligible to direct Choice Dollars? Choice Dollars charitable outreach funds can make a world of difference to our DCHS animals. By directing Choice Dollars, eligible Thrivent members recommend where they feel Thrivent should distribute a portion of its charitable funds. Directing Choice Dollars is easy. Bricks & Recognition Opportunities
Making a charitable donation is a wonderful way to recognize an individual or pet, while showing your compassion for the homeless animals who are still waiting to find loving families.

Gateway Guardians
The Gateway Guardian Program provides sponsorship of an actual dog, cat or critter kennel for an entire year. Every animal that resides in that kennel will benefit personally from your generous support. And the thousands of visitors to DCHS each year will know and appreciate your caring support of homeless animals.
A personalized plaque displaying your name, business and/or message of your choice is available for only $500 per year. For just under $1.50 a day, you can help change the world for animals in need.
Commemorative Brick
Help build a path of love and hope! Purchase a personalized brick featuring a tribute to a well-loved person or animal. These bricks pave a walkway on DCHS's grounds and provide a long lasting opportunity to honor or memorialize a family member, friend or animal companion while supporting the lifesaving work of DCHS.

Bench with plaque or engraving - $5,000
Bricks are installed twice a year - March 31 (orders received by February 1) and September 30 (orders received by August 1). Brick purchasers will be notified when their brick has been installed and the location of the brick. There will be no official unveiling ceremony; guests are welcome to visit and view their brick whenever most convenient.
Benches
Commemorative benches are placed throughout our beautiful Main Sheltercampus and can have a custom plaque engraved included. A bench is $5,000.

Ian's Pizza donates $0.15 per bag of Puppy Chow they sell at their Madison locations to help animals in need at DCHS!!
Sauer Vending Machine
Donate a 2' x 2' spot in your business for a Dane County Humane Society Candy Vending Machine! 10% of sales for your machine will be donated to help the animals in need at DCHS. Mention DCHS while ordering a canvas print at the Middleton UPS Store or Shorewood Hills UPS Store and they will donate $5 to help your local homeless animals!

Wines for Humanity Sampling Events
By donating up to 12.5% of revenue from the guest's selection at wine sampling events, Wines for Humanity has been serving the needs of local communities for over a decade. Cans for Critters
You can help raise money for the animals by collecting your aluminum beverage cans and donating them to DCHS. Bring your cans to DCHS's Main Shelter and our volunteers will take them to be recycled and converted into a donation for the shelter. Over $50,000 has been raised since the beginning of this program and every can helps us care for animals in need.
