Girl Scout Badges

Are you looking to earn an animal-related badge? DCHS offers workshops for:

  • DCHS Shelter Badge - for any Scout!
  • Brownie - Pets badge
  • Cadette - Animal Helpers badge
  • Junior - Animal Habitats badge
  • Senior - Assistance with Voice for Animals badge

Each workshop includes a tour of DCHS, a service project, interactions with our education animals, activities to complete the badge requirements and the appropriate badge. Workshops take approximately two hours to complete.

Our participation fee for badge workshops is based on a sliding scale. Adults can attend for free but siblings are included in the total number of participants.

  • 1-10 Participants: $125
  • 11-15 Participants: $175
  • 15-20 Participants: $225

Workshops can be held any day of the week. All sessions are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. We recommend scheduling at least two months in advance.

If you have scouts in different levels, contact our Humane Educator with details. We may be able to create blended workshops to fit your group.

Daisy's 5 Flowers, 4 Stories, 3 Cheers for Animals Journey

To assist with the requirements for this Daisy Journey, we recommend completing the DCHS Shelter Badge or signing up for a tour of the shelter.

Boy Scout Tours/Badges

We offer presentations that start your scout on the right path to earn the following badges:

  • Bird Study
  • Insect Study
  • Nature
  • Veterinary Medicine
  • Reptile/Amphibian Study
  • Dog Care

DCHS offerings will not complete the badge, as many aspects require work done with your family. These presentations will give you the building blocks to discovering something new about the unique world we live in and the animals that cohabitate it with us. Presentations can be offered to groups of all sizes. Please reach out for more information on pricing.
