Scout Badges

Are you looking to earn an animal-related badge? DCHS offers workshops for:

  • DCHS Shelter Badge - for any Scout!
  • Brownie - Pets badge
  • Cadette - Animal Helpers badge
  • Junior - Animal Habitats badge
  • Senior - Assistance with Voice for Animals badge

Each workshop includes a tour of DCHS, a project, interactions with our education animals, activities to complete the badge requirements and the appropriate badge. Workshops take approximately two hours to complete.

Scout badge workshops are available in two formats:

  • $250: Weekend workshops (1-20 participants)
  • $150: Weekday workshops for small groups only (1-10 participants)

Workshops can be held Mondays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. All sessions are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. We recommend scheduling at least two months in advance.

If you have scouts in different levels, we recommend the DCHS Shelter Badge workshop, or contact our Humane Educator for more information.
