A huge shoutout to everyone who helped make this year's Bark & Wine: Tailgate such a hit! We came together as one big team and raised important funds for the lifesaving work we do here at DCHS. We couldn't have done it without our passionate supporters, generous sponsors and partners, dedicated volunteers and staff, and of course, our adorable animal greeters who really stole the show!
In our friendly competition to see who would claim the title in the oldest rivalry in town, Team Cat really brought their A-game, pouncing to victory with an amazing $6,020 raised! Team Dog was right on their tail in second place with $5,570, while Team Wildlife and Team Critter rounded out the scoreboard with $810 and $420, respectively. Talk about a purr-fectly competitive spirit!
We had a fantastic time cheering for our teams and celebrating DCHS’s successes—thank you all for helping us score big this year!

Even though tickets are no longer available to the best Tailgate in town – Bark & Wine – you can still partake in the fun by cheering for your team and bidding in our silent auction online. This year’s event features a celebration of the oldest rivalry around – Team Cat vs Team Dog.

Online Auction
We have over 200 items generously donated by local businesses, DCHS volunteers, and other supporters available in our online auction. Our auction has a little bit of everything: from musical instruments to a firepit table to rare liquors and wines to handmade items. We have a variety of gift cards and certificates to enjoy events, activities, and restaurants. And carefully curated baskets for you and your fur-iends. All proceeds go to provide comfort and care to our animals. The auction is OPEN so click on the link below to start bidding now and often.
The auction will close at 8:30 pm on September 21. If you're not at the event to gather your winnings, items will be available for pickup from 12:00-3:00 pm on Sunday, September 22. at the Main Shelter, 5132 Voges Road.
