Volunteer at Taste of Madison

Next opportunity with Taste of Madison: August 31 and September 1, 2019

DCHS will receive $8-10 for each hour you volunteer at Taste of Madison, which takes place on the Capital Square over the Labor Day weekend. Each year, Taste of Madison depends on volunteers from supporting organizations like DCHS. They drive golf carts, do barricade watch, help with volunteer check in, do grounds maintenance and set up or breakdown the event! If you were thinking of attending Taste of Madison this year - consider working a shift to help DCHS.

Anyone can do this, and it’s a fun way to help animals in need at DCHS. You do not need to be a DCHS volunteer. You can even have family members, friends or co-workers join you in the fun!

Volunteer at Madison Marathons

Next opportunity with Madison Marathon: November 9-11, 2018

Volunteer help is needed in May for Run Mad Town and in November for Madison Marathon. DCHS will receive $8.00 for each hour you volunteer at either Run Mad Town or Madison Marathon, which take place on Madison’s Capitol Square. Each year these events depend on volunteers from supporting organizations like DCHS .

Anyone can do this and it’s a fun way to help DCHS raise money. You do not need to be a DCHS volunteer. You can even have family members, friends or co-workers join you! Each position has its own minimum age. Every family member or group member must sign up separately.

Sign up is easy, and it’s ‘first come first serve’, so don’t delay. There are quite a few charities that will compete for the open shifts, so they will fill quickly.

Volunteer at Brat Fest

Next opportunity with Brat Fest: May 2019

DCHS will receive $8.00 for each hour you volunteer at Brat Fest, which takes place on Willow Island at the Alliant Energy Center over the Memorial Day weekend. Each year, Brat Fest depends on nearly 5,000 volunteers from supporting organizations like DCHS. They grill… they cashier… they count attendees… they drive shuttles… they stock condiments… they make sure the event grounds are clean – you get it – they pretty much do it all! If you were thinking of attending Brat Fest this year - consider working a shift to help DCHS. Volunteers are also needed before and after the event for setup and breakdown.

Anyone can do this, and it’s a fun way to help animals in need at DCHS. You do not need to be a DCHS volunteer. You can even have family members, friends or co-workers join you in the fun! You must be at least 14 years old to volunteer alone at Brat Fest.

All volunteers who help at Brat Fest receive a Brat Fest t-shirt to wear when you show up for your shift. At the end of your shift, you receive a voucher for a free brat, hot dog or soda and a free ice cream. For all of you vegetarians there will be a non-meat alternative available to slather with condiments and relishes too. Before or after your shift, plan on staying to enjoy the music, fireworks and planned activities.
