Wildlife Center
DCHS's Wildlife Center takes in thousands of injured, sick, or orphaned wild animals every year with the goal of treating and releasing healthy animals back to their natural habitats. Volunteers help us with everything from direct animal care, cage construction and maintenance to working with the public. If working with wildlife interests you, please consider either of our Wildlife volunteer positions.
Recruitment of new Wildlife Assistants is from January 1 through March 13 of 2024. If you do not apply within this recruitment period, you will need to wait until 2025 to volunteer in our Wildlife Center.
Recruitment of new Wildlife Reception volunteers is now year-round.
